The International/Transnational Organisations Department is responsible for:

a) coordinating issues related to international/transnational organisations falling under the responsibility of GSRT, and promoting cooperation of Greek sentities with such organisations, including the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC), Fusion for Energy (F4E), COST (COopération européenne dans le domaine de la recherche Scientifique et Technique), the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and the EUREKA initiative;

b) fulfilling the economic, political and administrative obligations arising from the country’s participation in international/transnational organisations falling under the responsibility of GSRT;

c) proposing national representatives and experts – as appropriate – to be appointed in the committees and bodies of the international/transnational organisations falling under the responsibility of GSRT; coordinating the country’s representation in such organisations;

d) monitoring representation of Greece in the European Space Agency, recommending participation in optional programmes, promoting actions required to ensure necessary national funding, as well as any action required to make use of the funding opportunities offered by the Greek Space Agency to Greek bodies and organisations;

e) monitoring the country’s representation in, and cooperation with, the EUREKA network bodies; coordinating and monitoring the participation of Greece in international EUREKA programmes;

f) addressing any other relevant issues.
