The General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) informs interested entities  that applications can be  submitted for the certification of scientific and technology research expenditure in order to  obtain a certificate of expenditure for the financial (fiscal) year 2017, as provided in the  Article 22a, “Scientific and technology research expenses”, of “Law No 4172/2013 (Α΄107) on adjusting income taxation and introducing emergency measures for the purposes of implementing Laws No 4046/2012, 4093/2012 and 4127/2013 and other provisions”.

 

The interested entities  can   submit their applications for scientific and technology research expenditure certification to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology premises no later than the date of filing their income tax declaration.

 

Required attachments include:

 

1) The information submission form regarding the scientific  and financial scope of the research project, completed in Greek, which must accompany the application filed by the entity both in printed and electronically. In case an entity has implemented more than one research projects, a separate form regarding the scientific and financial scope must be completed for each project;

 

2) An Excel certification form;

 

3) Article 22a of Law No 4172/2013 (Α'107);

 

4) Ministerial Decision No 109343/12/2017 (Official Gazette, Β2351/11-07-2017) on the determination of expenditure for scientific and technology research;

 

5) Circular No 1111/2016 and Circular No 1210/2017

 

6) Explanations and a list of the supporting documents required for obtaining the certificate.

 

It must be pointed out that GSRT is responsible for granting certification and has no competence on taxation issues.
