Nikolaos G. Georgarakis is a researcher at the National Center of Social Research. He studied Political Science in Panteion University and completed his post-graduate studies in Political Science and Political Sociology in the University of Paris (Paris II).

He served as Secretary General of the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government of the Ministry of Administrative Reform & E-Governance (2010 – 2012). He also served as the Director of the National School of Public Administration and deputy Secretary and Coordinator of the Secretariat of the OP “Clisthenes” for the modernisation of the Public Administration. He was a national expert in the Committee for Public Management (PUMA) of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for several years.

He has been a mandated professor at the Post-Graduate Studies Programme of the Panteion University’s Department of Public Administration and at the Cypriot Academy of Public Administration. He has published articles, studies and research reports and has participated in a significant number of scientific colloquia and conferences in Greece and abroad.

Mr. N. G. Georgarakis was announced as Officer of the Order of Academic Palms of the French Republic by the Decree of 9th October 2012.
