Speaker Virginia Maestri

Virginia Maestri is currently a socio-economic analyst at DGEmployment, Social Affairs and Inclusion - European Commission. She works on poverty, inequality, social expenditure and taxation in the Social AnalysisUnit and contribute to the DG EMPL annual review “Employment and Social Developments in Europe”. Between 2010 and 2013 she was a postdoctoral researcher at AIAS-University of Amsterdam for the FP7 Growing Inequalities (GINI). Her work mainly focused on the distributional aspects of housing. She co-authored the chapters on income and wealth inequality of the GINI Volume “Changing Inequalities and Societal Impacts in Rich Countries”, recently published by Oxford University Press.
